João has been at the Casa de Dom Inacio for over 30 years. There are some thirty three entities he incorporates at the Casa, so named after one of the entities, St Ignatius de Loyola, founder of the Jesuits. He is free of charge. In 1991 João traveled to Peru and worked on over 20,000 people including the President who suffered with atrophy of the hands and his son who had a mental disorder. In gratitude he was awarded a Peruvian medal of honour. He also was given given a march of honour by the entire provincial Peruvian army. This was usually reserved only for heads of government. He has also treated Shirley Maclaine and the author and spiritual teacher Ram Dass. He also travels on his days off to other parts of Brazil and may treat tens of thousands of people at a time. João Teixeira da Faria was born on June 24, 1942 in a small village in central Brazil . His father was a tailor, and despite his efforts working as a tailor, João and his family were often faced with hunger and poverty. As a child, he displayed clairvoyant abilities. Because of his innate rebellion, João's formal education was cut short after only two years. Perhaps this was a blessing in disguise that allowed him to develop in such a way to better serve the future that was ahead. It was not until João was a teenager that his life was transformed forever. At sixteen he traveled to Campo Grande to begin a job as a tailor. For unknown reasons, the job was terminated its first day. With the reality of hunger and poverty staring João in the face, he was filled with despair. He went swimming in a nearby creek to refresh himself and wash away his anxieties. Then suddenly, he heard a voice call his name. He was amazed to see a beautiful, fair-haired woman next to a tree. He sat near her, and they spoke for a long time. Later that night João realized she was Saint Rita of Cassia. With many questions still unanswered, he returned to the same spot the next morning hoping to speak to her . A beam of light sparkled in the place where she had stood and her voice then emerged from the light. She instructed him to go to a Spiritist center in town where the people there were expecting him. Not understanding the meaning of this, he nonetheless did what he was told. When he arrived at the church, members were indeed expecting him. Then João lost consciousness. When he woke up a few hours later, he apologized for passing out and explained it was due to hunger. To João's surprise, a senior member told him he had not merely passed out but that he had incorporated the spirit of King Solomon. He went on to say that in those three hours that he couldn't remember, João had healed many people and performed amazing surgeries. João naturally thought this was a mistake. But after he was served a meal and more discussion took place, João began to reflect on the possibility that this could be true. So began the spiritual career of João de Deus, (John of God) as he is affectionately known, whose healings have benefited hundreds of thousands of people throughout the world. João in entity has also operated on himself. After he suffered a heart attack some years ago, the entities did a physical surgery on his body. This was a truly remarkable event, given the fact that João hates the sight of blood. Luckily for him, as usual, with all the work he does in entity, he had no recollection of the operation. João's reputation is now becoming worldwide due to massive media interest.
Why visit John of God? Well, there are no guarantees from going to the Casa, yet all people seem to benefit in some way. At the Casa, and through the entities, anything is possible. One man was clinically dead for 5 hours and is now alive to tell. He visits the Casa regularly to recount his extraordinary story. Some people have recovered from all kinds of incurable diseases, cancer and other serious illnesses. That is what we deserve to find out for ourselves. What is possible for me? How will I heal physically and grow spiritually and how can I afford to miss out on aligning myself with all the opportunities that are available there? Powerful healing entities are accessible at the Casa and the veil is very thin. This photo on the right, taken by Adrienne shows very clearly the two spirits with her. The opportunity to be cured of illness, free of pain, to have more energy, more love in our hearts, to be healthy and useful in the world is something we all wish for. One does not specifically have to be ill to receive the benefits. John of God is a phenomenon, whilst his behaviour is terms of being able to channel spirits is widely accepted amongst most Brazilians, he is indeed extremely well known there with a reputation as one of the most powerful healers to emerge in the 20th century. It is an opportunity not to be missed. Not if you are ill and need help or if you are spiritually inclined and wish to progress further along the path. Each of us knows in our hearts many things that are lost to our personality. Gifts of insight and intuition are sometimes easily available. Sickness can be overcome and the underlying spiritual causes can be healed. Relationships can be restored and peace can be found. This is not the exclusive domain of the Casa but the facilitating work of the Casa and the energy there gives us a very good chance of making the changes that sometimes seem impossible where we live. Going to the Casa does not give us rights to abandon sensible diets or discontinue medical treatment. On the contrary, when we return home we may discover many more options available to us to help us continue with our treatment and this may well be under the direction of the entities. It's a beautiful place, with gorgeous tropical flowering trees, sunshine, rolling hills, a relaxed way of life, fresh air and maybe even a hammock. The food is fresh and healthy, good for vegetarians and carnivores alike. The village is tranquil and peaceful, the people welcoming and the Brazilian 'joie de vive', love of life, is infectious. There is the opportunity to participate in the community spirit of healing and make new friends. A journey into the unknown and thinking out of the box.
